#ReclaimSocial 2022 – an overview of the day
On the 7th of February, we celebrated #ReclaimSocial – the annual day where we get together to share positive and inspiring messages on our channels.
For the fifth year running, #ReclaimSocial filled us with positivity at a time when we all need it the most.
We’ve counted more than 2000 posts on the day and 16m impressions, we trended on Twitter and most importantly, 95% of messages had a positive sentiment!
This means that many of us saw our feeds filling up with inspiring posts and new amazing people to follow.

Embedding #ReclaimSocial to your daily activities
#ReclaimSocial is not just an annual event. There are many different ways to include it in your daily digital activities.
Here are some ideas
Review your social media habits
If you are working in marketing or communications, you know how hard it is to keep your work away from your personal social media usage. Set boundaries and make sure you take frequent breaks. If a topic or a keyword is adding up to your stressful day, you can always mute it.
Help others improve their social media experience
We can reclaim social for good if we get more people to be kinder on social media. Help someone who’s new to social media improve their posting or commenting habits. Get them to understand the importance of cross-checking the sources before sharing a post that could be fake news.
Promote diverse, positive voices
Sometimes we need to burst our content bubble to explore new people to follow. Be proactive in discovering new and diverse accounts. Curate a feed with more positive mindsets. You can always delete what is no longer relevant for you.
Less is more
You don’t need to be everywhere. Don’t spend too much time on social media. Focus on the channels that matter to you and where your supporters spend the most time. On a personal level, make sure you don’t burn out by spending too much time on social media. Keep an eye on your screen time.
